Are you trying to decide on a Ragdoll kitten? Here is a guide to help you understand about seal Ragdoll kittens and patterns and to decide if a seal Ragdoll kitten is right for you.
What is Seal?
Seal or seal point is a traditional Ragdoll kitten color. Seal refers to the dark brown, almost black coloring a Ragdoll kitten has on its points.
What are Points?
Point patterns are the most well-known coloration in Ragdolls. Ragdolls possess a lighter body color with darker shades on their extremities or points, including their ears, paws, tail, and face. The contrast between the body and the points creates an alluring visual effect. The body color can vary from an even smoky light to medium brown, that gets darker with age. There may be some gradually shading into a lighter color on the belly and chest.

The seal bicolor pattern in Ragdolls is marked by a white inverted “V” starting on the forehead in their mask. They have point colored ears and tail. The legs, feet, ruff and stomach should be white. The nose and paw pads of a bi-color should be pink.
Seal Mitted Ragdolls
Mitted Ragdolls have the same points as seal point Ragdoll kittens but their legs have white “mitts” on the front feet (like “socks”) and white boots on the back legs. The chin should be white and there should be a white belly stripe. Mitted kittens could have a blaze (a white spot on the face).

They look similar. The seal point Ragdoll could be described as dark brown The points are deep seal brown while the body is beige to light brown. The chest and stomach are lighter in color that the body. The chocolate point Ragdoll is light brown/milk chocolate and the body should be ivory.
